What is Fetal-Maternal Medicine (and do I need it)?

These are obstetricians who have additional specialist training in helping women through high-risk pregnancies or complications. They are focused on achieving a safe delivery and outcome for both mother and baby when things aren’t straight forward.

We are so lucky to have one (Dr Madhavi Manoharan). It means you’ll have access to this advanced care automatically if you book your pregnancy with her and she’s right there to support her colleagues if a concern arises. Peace of mind comes as standard with our team.

Holistic Obstetrician Care

We pride ourselves on a patient-centred approach with shared decision making to ensure your birth experience is positive, whilst also having a particular focus on safety, given we are an island. You’ll find your obstetrician, Dr Lisa Joels and Dr Madhavi Manoharan, passionate about creating an antenatal, birthing and postnatal journey that meets and exceeds your expectations, making having a baby the joyous experience it should be.

Safe Obstetrician Care

We are blessed with the only combined obstetrician-fetal-neonatal qualified team on island, with individuals who are all tertiary trained and experienced, ensuring seamless coordination for both maternal and newborn aspects of care. The ideal pregnancy is an uneventful one but in the event that nature has other ideas, it’s important to have a team you are confident in, with the right experience and training, who work closely together.
